Avatar Press and Mischief Maker Studios proudly announce that legendary comic book writer Garth Ennis will be premiering his short film, Stitched, at San Diego Comic-Con. Featuring Ennis' debut as a filmmaker, Stitched blends supernatural horror with a contemporary war story, creating a terrifying landscape which will be explored further in an ongoing monthly comic book series.
The fifteen-minute long film is written and directed by Garth Ennis, best known as the writer of such best-selling comic books as Preacher, The Punisher, The Boys, and Crossed. A Mischief Maker Studios production, Stitched was produced by Brian Pulido, Francisca Pulido, and Ed Polgardy. Adam Goldfine served as Director of Photography, while both Garth Ennis and William Christensen, the founder of Avatar Press, served as Executive Producers.
In Stitched, three survivors of an American helicopter crash (played by actors Tank Jones, Lauren Alonzo, and Kate Kugler) struggle across the high mountains of Afghanistan. They're injured, without food, water, or medicine, and moving through Taliban-controlled territory. Among the sun-bleached rocks, they discover something worse than enemy fighters: an ancient supernatural power - murderous, unstoppable, and serving a twenty-first century evil.

Blockbuster filmmaker Jon Favreau, director of Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures’ Cowboys & Aliens, is inviting thousands of fans to Comic-Con’s® world premiere of the new film that stars Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde, it was announced today. The extravaganza with Cowboys & Aliens’ stars marks the first time that the world’s largest entertainment convention has allowed a movie premiere of this size and scope during the weekend’s festivities.
Remarked Favreau: “I owe the fans at Comic-Con so much, and it is only right that they are the first people who will get to see Cowboys & Aliens. By bringing the world premiere of the movie to San Diego, it’s my small way of thanking them. I can’t wait to share this night with thousands of the fans who have supported my films over the years.”
The world premiere event will be held at the San Diego Civic Theatre on Saturday, July 23, 2011. The red carpet events begin at 7:00 PM, and the film starts at 8:00 PM. The panel will answer questions from the audience; show a portion of the special features from the upcoming Supernatural: The Complete Sixth Season DVD and Blu-ray™ release, in stores September 13; and give Comic-Con fans a sneak peek at Supernatural: The Anime Series, coming to DVD and Blu-ray™ on July 26. Stars Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, along with writers and producers, make their first Comic-Con appearance for a panel and Q&A! They're bringing exclusive new footage of the new season to be shown ahead of its late summer return on BBC America. Doctor Who follows the adventures of the Doctor, the mysterious traveler who journeys throughout all of time and space, picking up companions along the way and almost always sidestepping danger. From award-winning lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat and starring BAFTA nominee Matt Smith as the Doctor and Karen Gillan as his companion Amy Pond, the second season's Part One delivered record ratings for BBC America and marked the first time Doctor Who filmed on American soil. Also starring Arthur Darvill and Alex Kingston, the Part One finale ended with the unveiling of a massive secret and the words "Let's Kill Hitler" on screen. Part One is now available on Blu-ray/DVD/iTunes, and Part Two premieres late summer on BBC America's Supernatural Saturdays. The panel will be moderated by Adam Rogers, senior editor, WIRED magazine.
