Persistense - In Blood and Heart Band: Persistense
Title: In Blood and Heart
Year Released: 2009
Reviewer: Terry Bunch
Rating: 9

A thrash-death mixture from Holland full of intelligent riffs, speed changes and strong songwriting. The CD delivers an intense, and sometimes brutal collection of thought provoking songs. The band stated that they set out to create each song as a recognizable entity of its own. This goal was achieved on "In Blood and Heart". It's refreshing to hear a band that strives to ensure that each song does not sound like a continuation of the previous one.

A heavier than normal melodic death metal release, this CD proves that simply being influenced by greatness is not enough, you have to build upon it. The various elements that make up this release are numerous and wide spread, however, that mixture of styles is in itself the magic of this CD. All of the ingredients of metal that you love are all brought together in a symphony of blissful chaos.
