SyFy has brought the world of movie props and memorabilia to us all. Their new show features Joe Maddelena, owner of Profiles in History and his crew as they gather together some awesome items from movie, TV and pop culture history for auction.
Trailer:
The show doesn't dwell on drama between employees. There is no blatant attempt to make the show "interesting" by creating situations. What we get is a program that show us how Profiles in History functions and how Joe manages his team. With auction deadlines looming and items that need verified, the crew is busy and the viewer is kept intrigued. Hollywood Treasure does not spend too much time on each segment and that allows the viewer to stay focused even if a particular item may not be of interest.
Joe and his team also try to establish business relationships with Hollywood studios so that aspect of the business is witnessed as well. Anyone even remotely interested in movies is going to love this program.
A major plus to Hollywood Treasure is how the viewer gets to experience the emotions of the owners of these items as they decide to sell them and the exciting tension of watching the item climb in value at the auction itself.
Celebrities and serious collectors are invitied to the auctions as Joe and his team masterfully craft the perfect environment to get the most value out of each item for their clients.
Another plus for this progrm is the variety of genres they cover. They have items from the classics, science fiction and horror movies and some incredible items from TV shows as well. Each time they reveal another item, it is like watching the scenes of Hollywood history and you have a front row seat.
