1. The Voice Without
|
Opening the CD with haunting vocals and fast rhythms, "The Voice Without" progresses through various speed
changes as Alessandra's vocals soar and meld with the music. In a style that is often compared to other
female fronted metal bands, this song reminds me of a Within Temptation style most of all. Heavy, dark and very
melodic, "The Voice Without" definitely has a European sound to it.
Next, we hear "Shadow Of A Lie". By far the best of the 3 tracks on this CD to show the band's overall skills, the guitar work is very impressive and once again, the vocals are superb. The violin is a nice touch overlayed on the crunching guitars. Again, the European influence can be heard. Melodies, symphonic metal bursts and a tight bass/drum combo make this track my favorite. Lastly, we get a change of pace with "It's Only For Forever". A piano intro leads us to an almost 80's style guitar riff. The ballad of the CD, this song is both powerful and intense. Alessandra's voice floats into your ears and stirs something inside your mind. Even if you don't really get into their style of metal, this song will stick with you long after you hear it. "It's Only For Forever" touches your soul. Overall, this CD needs to be in your collection. A well written, arranged and performed 3 song collection exuding talent and metal power. Additionally, the formula for a good demo states that you should show the different sides of your band, and express the various talents of the individuals as well as the band. Of Infinity have followed that formula to the letter and have recorded a memorable CD. The existing talent Of Infinity shows and what we can see as growing into even greater skills, is what led Metal Life Magazine to sponsor this band.
